Course Outline

Aims

The aims of the course are to equip delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to prepare shipments of dangerous goods correctly for transportation by air. The course is being run in partnership with Andrew Wakely Associates and is fully approved in the UK by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and ends with a 3 hour UK CAA examination (75% pass mark). Successful delegates will receive a certificate of competence which will be valid for two years. The course does not cover radioactive material (Class 7) which is covered in The Carriage of Radioactive Materials By Air - Two-day Training Course (A020). 

Objectives

The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:

  1. Locate key information in the Dangerous Goods Regulations
  2. Correctly package and label a shipment.
  3. Complete the shipper's declaration
  4. Check shipments for full compliance with regulations

Who Should Attend

This course is aimed at Operator's and ground handling agent's staff accepting dangerous goods (Category 6) and also covers all the syllabus requirements for Shippers (Category 1).
