Course Outline

Aims

The aims of the course are to equip delegates with the knowledge and practical skills to prepare shipments of radioactive materials correctly for transportation by air. The course is being run in partnership with Andrew Wakely Associates and is fully approved in the UK by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and ends with a 2 hour UK CAA examination (75% pass mark). Successful delegates will receive a certificate of competence which will be valid for two years. Revalidation can be understaken up to 3 months before the current certificate expires. The two-year validation period will commence on the expiry date of the previous certificate. 

Objectives

The objectives of the course are to enable delegates to:

  1. Correctly package and label a shipment.
  2. Complete the shipper's declaration
  3. Check shipments for full compliance with regulations
