AVISA Group Managing Director

Justin has over 25 years industry experience including a number of years with the UK CAA working in both the Maintenance, Continued Airworthiness and Design sections.

He has in-depth knowledge of current EASA, ASSI, GCAA, Cayman and Bermudan CAA regulations and how they should be implemented together with excellent awareness of current industry issues and the challenges we all face.

Justin's specific area of specialisation is Continued Airworthiness and EASA part M with experience gained in Commercial and VVIP operations together with regulatory and policy development.

Amin has worked within the Aircraft Maintenance Industry since 1977.
A Part 66 Licensed Engineer and Graduate, Amin has broad experience within the industry spanning Line and Base Maintenance, Project Engineering, Quality Audit Management and Base Maintenance Liaison Engineer team leader.

Amin's area of specialisation is EASA Part M subpart G approved Airworthiness Management capability.

AVISA UK Operations Manager

Ian is a licensed engineer with over 30 years experience in Aviation. The majority of this time has been spent in maintenance and quality management positions, formerly as an Engineering Officer in the RAF and culminating as the Director of Engineering of a UK regional airline. Latterly, Ian was employed with the UK CAA for 13 years, in a number of Regional Offices. He was the EASA MRB Chairman for all BAe aircraft types and also sat on the UK National Aerospace NDT Board. Ian was a member of the UK CAA Human Factors Working Group for many years and delivered HF and MEMS training to CAA surveyors and industry during that time.

AVISA UK Chief Finance Officer (CFO)

Peter heads up our Finance Department and is responsible for managing all related functions. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant and Registered Auditor in 1990 and as an Independent Financial Advisor in 1996. He has many years of Finance and Management experience gained in an industry and consultancy environment. Previous posts include the formation, development and management of a Chartered Accountants and Registered Auditor practice in 1992. He also developed, managed and implemented financial controls in Colleges for the Further Education Funding Council and has held the post of Chief Finance Officer for a UK based electronics manufacturer with exports to 37 countries.

John Hayes

AVISA UK Quality Manager

John has a broad aviation industry experience.
Since 1994 he has been working with major MROs and Operators in a variety of Continuing Airworthiness Management and Quality Assurance functions.

A graduate and trained ISO9001 Lead Auditor, John has a detailed practical knowledge of both Part 145 and Part M quality systems and requirements combined with an understanding of the challenges they pose industry.

Robert is a Licensed Engineer, holds a Professional Certificate in Management and has 32 years experience in aviation, working world wide for MRO’s and Operators, in the Military, Commercial and Private sector of the industry.   His recent positions held included: Base Maintenance Avionics Manager; Avionics Manager and Engineering Projects Manager.  During this period he was directly involved in the successful  fleet transition onto the European register and development, implementation and attainment of PT145/147. Pt M sub part G and I. Robert has detailed experience of Pt145/M and Airworthiness Review requirements for European and International Regulatory Authorities.  He also is registered as a ‘Technical coordinator’ for the Civil Aviation Authority Cayman islands.”

Hugh is a Licensed Engineer with over 40 years experience in general aviation and the airlines. His experience includes Line and Base Maintenance, Project Management, both Technical and Aircraft Acquisition and Airline Maintenance Management. Having worked in Quality Management and Auditing covering all aspects of Part M, 145 and JAR OPS, his range of experience gives him an excellent overall perspective of Aircraft Technical Support and Maintenance.

Malcolm Cox

Malcolm has over 30 years experience built on 22 years service in the RAF at home and abroad finishing his military career as an Engineering Officer. Since leaving the service he has had a number of high profile appointments supporting some of Europe's leading low-cost airlines with continuing airworthiness management services. As a practicing Aircraft Maintenance Manager, he brings a strong commercial focus to the application of regulatory compliance.

Tony has spent 20 years at the UK CAA as a Senior Airworthiness Surveyor. In that time he was responsible for the project management of several significant safety initiatives and new regulation implementations.

Tony was the project manager for the UK implementation of EASA Part M Subpart I as well as being the UK representative on the EASA Part M Panel of Experts. He was also the EASA Rule-drafting Chairman for the Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) current and emerging requirements.

He project managed a number of CAA Safety Initiatives including fuel tank safety, field loadable software and in-flight entertainment systems.

Malcolm is a licensed aircraft engineer with nearly forty years experience in the aviation industry in maintenance and technical support roles.

He has served twentyone years as an Airworthiness Surveyor with the UK CAA, monitoring airworthiness and safety through a detailed knowledge of current EASA and UK CAA regulations.

Malcolm is experienced at an interantional level having been the EASA Bombardier CRJ MRB chairperson working in conjunction with other regulators; EASA, FAA and TCCA during the introduction of the CRJ 900 and 1000 models.

He is a qualified and proficient auditor with a proactive and pragmatic approach to problem solving and has been directly involved with the oversight of a range of approvals; EASA Parts M, 145 and 21, both in the UK and outside the EU as well as national approvals relating to historic aircraft.

Phil has over 30 years industry experience having worked for a number of major international airlines in a variety of executive and management positions.

This experience has included positions in Base Maintenance, Technical Services, Project Engineering, Quality, Training and Maintenance Control.

He is qualified ISO9001 Lead Auditor and has a detailed knowledge of Part M, 66, 145 and 147 requirements combined with the pracrical experience of how they can be implemented.

AVISA UK Airworthiness Consultant

Alan has worked in the aircraft industry for over 40 years. A part 66 Licence Engineer gaining his CAA Licence in 1978. His career has spanned aircraft repairs, modifications and maintenance in a large aircraft facility.
This he carried out under CAA, EASA, FAA and MOD procedures and other national authorities’ procedures. His last few years were engineering manager on General Aviation and Business Jets.  Where he was a Form 4 & E3 holder and carried out ARC renewals. Alan has a good overall knowledge of Part M, 66 and 145 as well as auditing and quality systems and the effects these procedures bring to this industry. 

David Stables

David has a strong engineering and technical background having worked for over 38 years in the motor industry. He has held roles as a Project Technical Author and Product Investigation Manager as well as Area Customer Service Manager, Area After-Sales Manager and Area Business Development Manager.

He is a trained ISO 9001 Internal Auditor and brings to AVISA a wealth of IT knowledge in asset management and database manipulation.

Len has spent 27 years at the UK CAA. He was Section Leader of the Maintenance Requirements and Policy Section. He was responsible for developing and implementing Continued Airworthiness requirements for UK aircraft, in particular Part M and Part 145.

Len has also worked with the JAA in co-operation with other international regulators such as the FAA, on various safety related projects, including SFAR 88 and Continued Airworthiness Maintenance Planning requirements.

Michael has over 10 years experience in various roles within a UK-based international airline. Michael has held positions in both technical records and line maintenance, where he gained experience in technical planning and hands-on engineering on the line.

Peter has been working in the aviation industry for 38 years. He has extensive experience of the military, offshore and onshore markets. He spent 10 years as Chief Pilot of a leading onshore helicopter operator specialising in the corporate sector before joining the CAA. Peter spent another 10 years with the Authority as Flight Operations Inspector and Training Inspector, before setting up his own business.

Paul has over 19 years experience within the Aircraft Maintenance industry working with major MROs and operators. He is knowledgeable of both EASA Part M and Part 145 requirements.

Paul's knowledge and experience covers Technical Services, Line & Base Maintenance, Maintenance Operations, Contracts and Logistics, developing procedures for both Airlines and MROs. In recent years Paul has been responsible for the project management and implementation of ERP IT solutions.

Paul's area of specialisation is Technical Services having held the position of Technical Services Manager for a major Part M sub part G organisation whilst developing airworthiness management.

Richard specialises in Aviation Safety Management Systems with a foundation of over 30 years experience as an Aircraft Engineer and Engineering Officer within the Royal Air Force. Richard has been involved with Safety Management, Safety Assessments and the production of Safety Cases for 10 years with extensive knowledge of both the Military and Civil Safety Management requirements. Since 2007, Richard has been the lead facilitator and contributor for the development of a Safety Management System for a Global Off-shore Helicopter operator with specific emphasis on the development of the Safety Risk assessments for all aircraft and operating bases.

Phillip has a comprehensive background working within an EASA Part M subpart G organisation developing airworthiness management for a number of UK and overseas commercial airlines. In addition, Phillip has managed commercial aircraft lease returns and aircraft export C and A projects. He also holds a degree in aerospace engineering.

David is an Aeronautical Engineering expert with over 12 years experience in the aviation industry and a Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society. He has experience in Aircraft Design, Airworthiness, Military Flight Test & Evaluation and more recently Civil Airport Regulation (CAA) and is also a professional pilot (FATPL).

David's specific area of expertise is in Civil Owned Military Registered Aircraft (COMR) which is an expansion of AVISA's expertise into this demanding field of operations, as well as support to the company's growing EASA Part M Subpart G approved Airworthiness Management capability.

Martin has 35 years experience within the aviation and aerospace industry. His recent positions within the industry have included Maintenance and Engineering Technical Consultant, Director of Maintenance, MRO General Manager (Accountable Manager), Line Maintenance Manager and Base Maintenance Manager.

Martin has had recent experience in developing Part 145 and Part M organisations, developing the expositions and procedures for Airlines and MROs, including MRO IT solutions and the implementation process for customers. Martin has extensive experience of UK industry and has worked in Europe, the USA, Africa, Middle East and the Far East.

Rick has worked within the civil aviation industry for 35 years covering major MRO and Operator environments.

As a licensed engineer since 1975, Rick's experience covers Line and Base Maintenance, Quality Assurance functions and Continued Airworthiness management.

Rick has detailed experience of Part 145, Part M and Airworthiness Review requirements and also specialises in the production of operator maintenance documents and manuals.

Oliver holds a Professional Certificate in Management and has held various roles organising and trouble-shooting offices, setting up and reviewing processes and advising customers on regulatory requirements.

Oliver has worked for various international companies with customers worldwide.

Steve has spent over 35 years in the aviation industry and has held a Senior Airworthiness position with a UK airline for the last 12 years.

Steve's specific area of expertise is in Organisation Process Management and Evaluation, Continuing Airworthiness and the implementation of EASA Part M and Part 145.

He is a trained ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and brings to AVISA many years experience gained in the management of airworthiness data and implementation of IT systems within the MRO environment.

Mark began his aviation career as a student aircraft engineer at British Airways, proceeding to take on numerous engineering roles within the company when his training was complete. This led on to various projects for Mark, who branched out from engineering and began to work in the MRO sector. Through his years of industry experience, Mark continued to study and gained an MBA and a PhD in Air Transport Engineering and Air Transport Management.

In 2007 Mark initiated the establishment of a new VIP and executive airline based in Abu Dhabi and became the Accountable Manager and COO of Al Jaber Aviation, AJA Private Jets. Marks heads up the technical and commercial operation and also represents AJA's 51% ownership of AVISA Gulf LLC.

Emmet has spent over 19 years in the aviation industry and has held a Senior Planning/Tech Services position with a Dubai Based VIP Private Airline for the last 7 years.

Emmet's specific area of expertise is in Planning, Technical Sevices and Continuing Airworthiness Emmet has also worked for Airlines & MRO's both in the UK and in his home country of Ireland. His time spent in the UAE has given him an extensive knowledge of the GCAA requirements which will help Avisa-Gulf operate in the region.

Kalendra is an Aviation Technical Consultant and an EASA part 147 Aircraft Type Training Technical Instructor. He has been in commercial aviation (Airlines, Aircraft and Engine MROs, Technical Training and Aircraft Leasing Organisations) for more than 20 years and has been well exposed to various fields within the environment, encompassing base & line maintenance, wet & dry lease operations, airport ground handling, contract management & development, quality, engine overhaul & test, technical training and project management. He is also an EASA part 66 LAME, a qualified ISO 9001: 2000 Internal Auditor, and holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Maastricht School of Management (MSM) Netherlands. His forte is in Continued Airworthiness, EASA part M, part 145, Quality Assurance and Technical Training.
